Install and log in
If you have never played MU Online, start here. It is four steps and takes about ten minutes, almost all of it download.
1. Create the account on the site
The account is created at wildmu.com, not inside the game. It is free.
Two things that save you a headache:
- The game password is 10 characters max. It is not a design choice, it is a limit of the MU database. If you use a password manager, generate a 10-char one.
- Save the account name exactly as you typed it. That is what you log in with, not the email.
2. Download the client
client.wildmu.com/WildMU-Setup.exe
There is a Windows version only. There is no client for Mac, Linux, Android or iPhone, and you cannot play in the browser.
The installer brings the whole game — you do not need MU installed first, and you do not need to download anything from anywhere else.
3. Pick the world
When you log in you choose between three worlds. They are separate servers, with their own characters and warehouses:

The same account gets into all three. You do not have to choose forever: you can have a character in each one. What does not travel between them is item, zen and warehouse — each world has its own.
If you are in doubt, start on x500.
4. Create the character
There are six classes. If you have never played MU, the easiest to learn is the Dark Knight: hits up close, takes a beating, and does not depend on mana.
Two classes you cannot create yet:

It is not a VIP gate or a payment gate — it is level, and it applies to everyone. The other four are free from the first minute.

Before you go walking off
Your character is born dressed and with money, and the warehouse has a gift. What each thing is, and what not to sell, is in first steps.
If it gets stuck
I cannot log in, it says the password is wrong. Check that you are using the account name, not the email. And remember the 10-character limit: if you registered a longer password somewhere, it was cut.
The game opens and closes by itself. Run the installer as administrator and have your antivirus allow the game folder — MU touches things antivirus tends to find suspicious.
I got in but everything is stuttering. MU is a 2003 game and runs on almost anything; stuttering is almost always the anti-cheat fighting another open program. Close screen recorders and overlays (Discord, GeForce Experience).
