The evolutions

In MU your character changes class by doing quests with NPCs. Here there are seven quests in total, split between three NPCs, and only two of them actually change your class.

Stage With whom Where Level Who does it
Quests 1 and 2 Sebina the Priest Devias 183, 32 150 DW · DK · FE · SU
Quests 3 and 4 Marlon Devias 183, 30 220 DW · DK · FE · SU
Quests 5, 6 and 7 Apostle Devin Crywolf 228, 48 380 and 400 all six

Sebina and Marlon stand side by side

Both are in Devias, two steps from each other — he's at 183,30 and she's at 183,32. If some list sends you to Noria looking for Sebina, it's wrong: she was never there.

Apostle Devin is far away, in Crywolf, at 228, 48. Crywolf is reachable from level 10 and the trip is free, so you can learn the way long before you need it.

Who does what

  • Dark Wizard, Dark Knight, Fairy Elf and Summoner do everything, in order.
  • Magic Gladiator and Dark Lord don't talk to Sebina or Marlon. They go straight to Apostle Devin, at level 380.
  • The Summoner skips nothing — despite being a "newer" class, she follows the same path as the Dark Wizard.
  • The fourth quest is Dark Knight only. The other classes stop at the third.

Only two change your class

The naming is misleading, so it's worth spelling out:

  • Sebina (2nd quest, level 150) — changes your class. Dark Knight becomes Blade Knight, Dark Wizard becomes Soul Master, Fairy Elf becomes Muse Elf, Summoner becomes Bloody Summoner.
  • Marlon (level 220) — does not change your class. It gives hero status, the combo skill (Dark Knight only) and unlocks +1 stat point per level from then on.
  • Apostle Devin (7th quest, level 400) — changes your class again and opens the master level.

After Devin: Grand Master, Blade Master, High Elf, Duel Master, Lord Emperor and Dimension Master. There is no third change on this server — that's the last one.

What each quest charges

The item isn't the bottleneck: it drops at between 4.8% and 6.5% per monster killed in the right range. That's a few minutes of hunting, not a night.

Sebina · level 150

Zen What to bring From which monster
1st 1,000 1 Scroll of the Emperor level 45 to 60 · 6%
2nd 2,000 your class's item level 62 to 76 · 4.8%

The item for the second one changes with the class:

Class Item
Dark Knight Broken Sword
Dark Wizard Soul Shard of Wizard
Fairy Elf Tear of Elf
Summoner Abyssal Eye

Each of the two gives 10 stat points. The second is the one that changes your class.

Marlon · level 220

Zen What to bring From which monster
3rd 3,000 1 Scroll of the Emperor +1 level 72 to 108 · 4.8%
4th 2,000 1 Broken Sword +1 level 72 to 108 · 4.8%

Note the +1: it isn't the same item as Sebina's, it's the upgraded version, and it only drops from higher monsters.

The fourth is Dark Knight only — it's the one that gives the combo.

These two give no stat points on the spot. Their payment is the third quest, which from then on gives you +1 point on every level above 220. On a character going to 400 that's 180 extra points, and it's why it's worth doing.

Apostle Devin · levels 380 and 400

Level Zen What to bring Points
5th 380 5,000 three items, one from each monster (below) · 6.5% 20
6th 400 7,000 kill 20 Balram, 20 Death Spirit and 20 Soram 20
7th 400 10,000 kill 1 Dark Elf 30

The three items for the fifth, and who drops them:

Item Monster Map
Death-Beam Knight Flame Death Beam Knight Tarkan
Hell-Mine Horn Hell Maine Aida
Dark Phoenix Feather Phoenix of Darkness Icarus

The monsters for the sixth and seventh are in Barracks and Refuge — the two high-level Kanturu maps.

The seventh is the one that changes your class and opens the master level.

The zen is small on purpose

One thousand, two thousand, ten thousand. Not a million.

This server divides every price by a thousand, and the number the NPC shows is what leaves your pocket. If a guide talks about millions, it's a guide for another server — no evolution quest here costs more than 10,000 zen.

Adding it all up: 30,000 zen for the Dark Knight, the only one who does all seven; 28,000 for the others who go through Sebina; and 22,000 for the Magic Gladiator and the Dark Lord, who only do Devin's three.
